Axel
Axel is a junior at Harvard College, concentrating in Neuroscience. He earned a SAT Math score of 710, and AP scores of 5 for Calculus AB and Psychology. He grew up in Winchester, Virginia and has been tutoring since 2022, when he began working at Mathnasium, helping K-12 students develop their math skills. He takes an emphasis on working to fill in gaps of knowledge below the student's grade level to build a strong foundation to support the transition to higher level courses. During his time at Mathnasium, he split his time between guiding students through homework problems and strengthening foundational skills in the same session, depending on the students' needs and preferences.
Given his field of study, Axel is willing to be flexible in identifying unique teaching approaches to cater to different learning styles, and his neurodivergence makes him experienced in finding ways to work with your brain when it comes to learning, especially with approaches that aim to align with the Universal Design for Learning.
