Shiwaum
Shiwaum Khera (Class of 2029) is a Harvard College student studying Molecular & Cellular Biology and Economics, with a secondary in Music. While he is passionate about science, economics, and music, one of the most meaningful parts of his life has always been education—both his own and the chance to guide others through theirs.
In high school, Shiwaum served on his School Council in Massachusetts while juggling SAT prep and college applications. He remembers the stress, the uncertainty, and the feeling of not knowing where to start. Those experiences shaped his approach to tutoring and consulting: patient, empathetic, and grounded in real experience.
He began tutoring on Schoolhouse and later taught a college-level economics course, finding joy in breaking down complex ideas and helping students gain confidence. Having recently gone through the college admissions process himself, he now works as a college consultant, helping students uncover their stories, craft authentic essays, and approach applications strategically. He also tutors any math level K–12 and SAT prep, combining structure, empathy, and encouragement.
Outside academics, Shiwaum has played the violin for nine years, a pursuit that has taught him patience, discipline, and joy in growth—qualities he brings to every session. His mission is to help students feel seen, supported, and capable of achieving more than they ever thought possible.
