Economics Tutoring

Demetri Long (Class of 2028) is from Cincinnati, Ohio, and has been tutoring for over six years, helping students achieve academic excellence and confidence in their learning. While still in high school, Demetri worked full-time and earned an Associate of Science degree with over 100 college credits, graduating summa cum laude with a 4.0 GPA from Cincinnati State. He also earned a STEM honors diploma as valedictorian with a 5.095 GPA from Cincinnati College Preparatory Academy. His strong background in math and science enables him to effectively tutor subjects such as algebra, calculus, and biology, guiding students to understand the "why" behind the subjects. Beyond STEM, Demetri is the Founder and CEO of The Inkwell Publishing Company, where he mentors young writers and develops creative-writing and reading-comprehension programs. Diego Espinosa is a senior at Harvard College studying Economics with a secondary in Art, Film, and Visual Studies. He is from Mexico City, where he completed his education through high school and graduated as Valedictorian. He scored a 1500 on the SAT and has experience teaching Math and Physics. He has worked at startups in the hospitality and food industries and has worked with astrophysics research groups studying exoplanets. At Harvard, he is a member of the Futsal Club and coaches local U-14 soccer teams. Last summer, he studied Math and Business at the University of Cambridge and tutored local students. Diego teaches Math up to AP Calculus AB, as well as Macroeconomics. He also supports students with SAT prep, college applications, and essay writing, focusing on helping them stand out by telling their stories in a compelling and authentic way. Sarah (Harvard Class of 2029) is from Kansas City, Kansas. She scored a 1600 on the SAT (one-attempt) and took 15 AP classes (all 5s) through high school in the following subjects: Human Geography, World History, Physics 1, Statistics, Computer Science Principles, US History, Language & Composition, Chemistry, Microeconomics, Seminar, Calculus BC, Research, Macroeconomics, Government, and Spanish Language & Culture. In high school, Sarah was President of her city's Teen Council program and interned at the local government. She was also a nationally competitive policy debater (TOC-bid, Michigan 7-Week, Top 32 Nationally). She also competed at DECA Internationals (placed 8th in HRM) and was part of the Young Entrepreneurs Program of KC, where she interned at an international fintech. Sarah specializes in test preparation and strategy. In high school, she was President of the Math and English Honor Societies, where she ran tutoring sessions for 100+ students and improved test scores immensely. She is also capable of tutoring for any of the subjects for which she took AP exams. She can also support students with college essay revisions and strategies. Sarah is currently studying Applied Math & Government at Harvard, looking to pursue a career related to both fields.

Hello! My name is Neeraja Kumar and I am a sophomore at the college studying Government. João Lucas Oliveira, but you can call him João (class of 2028), is from São Paulo, Brazil, and studied his whole life in a small city in Brazil, where he came to the U.S. to pursue his undergraduate studies at Harvard in Government and Computer Sciences. He was 4.0 and a valedictorian student in high school and has different experiences, from Calculus and Math concepts, Programming, History and Government, to Portuguese, and College advising. He started to get involved in more extracurricular activities in Elementary school and got awards in national mathematics and science olympiads, becoming a three-medalist national medalist in the Brazilian Geography Olympiad. He has led Overseas, a delegation from his school network in Brazil that has raised more than $100,000 and supports students to go to international Model UNs and debates. He is also deeply engaged in social activities, volunteering. Worked as a Software Engineer in the largest investment banking firm in LATAM. He loves all levels of math and current affairs. João specializes in college application advising, but also tutors in CS subjects, Math, and World and History-related topics. Currently works as a Tutor at HSA, and is looking forward to going into his own Gov-Tech and AI Security company in the future.

Martin Bigil-Rico is a rising senior at Harvard University studying Computer Science and Statistics. He attended a public magnet high school in Southern California, where he held leadership positions in five clubs and participated in several of the nation’s most prestigious summer STEM programs. Martin achieved a 1510 on the SAT and earned 5’s on AP exams including English Language and Composition, English Literature, Calculus BC, Physics C: Mechanics, and Microeconomics and Macroeconomics. At Harvard, he co-founded SAT Daily, an app designed to help students access advanced SAT study resources; served as an editor for the campus Philosophy Review; and worked as a software developer for the Harvard Rocketry Club. He has extensive experience teaching the SAT, ACT, AP exams, and a wide range of academic subjects from English to Calculus, as well as providing college admissions coaching and essay support. His college counseling students have been accepted to top universities including Harvard, Princeton, Cornell, Carnegie Mellon, Notre Dame, Washington University in St. Louis, Boston University, UCLA, and UC Berkeley.
